What is it?
A Gastric Sleeve, also known as Sleeve Gastrectomy, is a surgical weight loss procedure that reduces the size of the stomach to help control appetite and support long-term weight management.
During the procedure, a portion of the stomach is permanently removed, leaving a smaller, sleeve-shaped section about the size of a banana. This limits how much food can be eaten at once and also reduces hunger by lowering the production of appetite-related hormones.
The result is effective, sustainable weight loss and improved overall health. Gastric sleeve surgery is performed laparoscopically (through small incisions), which allows for a faster recovery and minimal scarring compared to traditional open surgery.
